Flow Forming Systems
Flow forming shapes a preform over a mandrel with rollers, thinning the wall and lengthening the part without removing material.
Because the metal is displaced rather than cut, the grain follows the finished geometry. That is what makes the process worth its tooling cost on parts that have to hold pressure or survive launch loads.
ADS supplies flow forming horizontally for long components and vertically for shorter ones, at series volume in either case.
