SPT-5.50 Robotic Work Cell

Hot Spinning & Shear Forming | Automated Production Cells

The SPT-5.50 work cell is an MJC SPT tube spinning machine delivered as a complete automated cell, with a pedestal-mounted six-axis robot handling machine load and unload between integrated infeed and outfeed conveyors.

Part of the MJC SPT Series. The forming process is hot spinning and neck forming, the same as on every other SPT machine; this page covers the cell built around it.

MJC Engineering is an officially recognized and preferred robotics system integrator. Cells are built around the robot the plant already standardizes on: ABB, FANUC, Kawasaki, Yaskawa, Güdel or KUKA.

The robot carries a dual-station end-of-arm tool, removing the finished part and loading the next blank in a single motion. Robotic systems increase quality and productivity, eliminate operator injuries and reduce floor space requirements.
